Women, children and religious Americans new targets under resurrected equality law

President Joe Biden, only the second Catholic to be elected president, makes much of his religious good faith. But as a result of his sweep Executive Decree on the protection of gender identity and sexual orientation, its aggressive movements Abortion, and the appointments of some cabinet members, his expressions of faith ring particularly hollow.

But while the dispatches from President Biden’s left turn Washington has puzzled in recent weeks the Equality Act — and Biden’s ardent promise to get him adopted in his first 100 days, would surpass them all.

The Senate did not pass the bill after it passed the House in May 2019. But with Democrats controlling both chambers and the White House, the bill is more likely than ever to become law. Feel the wind behind their backs after-Bostock v. Clayton County (the US Supreme Court case last year which prohibits gender discrimination within the employer), the Human Rights Campaign trumpeted the likelihood of enactment of the equality law just days after the 2021 calendar page has turned, although even more moderate senators have expressed reservations on the bill.

How ambitious is the equality law? It makes fifty-nine substantial changes to long-standing federal laws, including the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the Government Employees Rights Act 1991, the Accountability Act of Congress 1995, the Civil Service Reform Act 1978, the Fair Housing Act, the 1968 Civil Rights Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and even the Law on Selection and Jury Services. These are laws dealing with public education, public housing, public facilities, housing, employment, federal grants and loans, how juries are selected, and transactions involving credits.

The law adds “sex” to certain titles such as “public facilities” and adds “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” in almost all federal laws, while significantly expanding the scope of public places. Initially and narrowly limited to restaurants, hotels, theaters and other establishments (depending on efforts to prevent the rejection of racial minorities in public places during the dark days of segregation), the definition of public accommodation under the law would be unilaterally extended to include “any establishment that provides a good, service or program”. And that would include “a store, mall, online retailer or service provider, salon, bank, gas station, food bank, service or health center, shelter, travel or funeral home, or an establishment that provides health care, accounting, or legal services.

Particularly targeted by this radical bill are (1) biological women, (2) religious Americans and (3) parents. If you happen to be a religiously practicing biological woman who is also a parent (like me), this bill portends the assassination of not only what you believe, but who you are and what your feelings are. children learn.

Do you think the equality law will not affect you? Do you think “equality” sounds harmless enough? After all, Americans don’t want discrimination against anyone, LGBTQ or otherwise.

Everyone should be able to enjoy the blessings and benefits of the freedom guaranteed to Americans by the American constitutional republic, yes. The beauty of the United States is that it is unprecedented in the freedom it offers its citizens. But that’s precisely why Americans don’t want the poison the Equality Act offers: forced speech, forced action, biased programs, unwanted science, and gutting of protections for religious beliefs. Every American should be very concerned.

Maybe the Democratic leaders digesting the growing opposition to the Equality Act would do well to understand what Americans do not want to.

Americans do not want their rights of conscience and free exercise to be gutted. But under the law, Christian bakers could no longer refrain from producing messages and materials contrary to the biblical view of marriage, which the law calls “sexual stereotyping.” Catholic foster agencies could not choose only married and heterosexual parents as foster parents in accordance with Catholic teaching. The Equality Act decimates the effect of the Restoration of Religious Freedom Act (RFRA) under one of the above laws, the text explicitly specifying: “The Restoration of Religious Freedom Act of 1993 (42 USC 2000bb et seq.) shall not provide a claim relating to, or a defense to a claim under a covered title, or provide a basis for contesting the enforcement or enforcement of a covered title . Without any protection of conscience, the Equality Act would have dictated opposite results for the Little Sisters of the Poor and Hobby Lobby in the Supreme Court when they asked for relief from the burdensome contraceptive warrants of Obamacare.

Americans don’t want their children to be brainwashed into the belief that biology is fungible and can be manipulated for partisan purposes. Americans also don’t want to be fed on universal Marxist sayings about how religious people are fanatical. But under the law, all educational institutions – yes, even religious institutions – would be subject to “gender identity” protections in sports, bathrooms, and sex education, among others.

And while the federal government generally avoids getting involved in curriculum matters, that administration’s regulatory overlords might (through federal courts or by tying federal funding to the adoption of uniform “standards” for curricula, as Obama’s Department of Education did with Common Core) impose a nationwide mandate to mainstream sexual orientation and gender identity into the study programme in all public schools.

Americans don’t want their daughters or mothers to share private spaces, sports teams, or shelters with biological men who “identify” as women. Americans are aware that established science recognizes the principles of indisputable biology and binary sex, and no one is born in the “bad” body. Yet, under the Equality Act, the neighborhood shopping center would become public housing, with gender-neutral toilets open to all. Women’s track and field teams and girls’ athletic scholarships would be open to biological men. Employers, charities, and medical providers would be forced to pay for or perform gender reassignment surgeries. And biological men would be admitted to shelters for battered women or the homeless.

Civil rights law that establishes a hierarchy of rights, a super-protected class of individuals, or elevates sex politics above basic and fundamental principles must be rejected. The Equality Act is a carpeted contradiction, demonstrating how unequal religious, feminine, and dissenting Americans are. It is a model for accelerating a constitutional republic towards socialism. Every American should be very concerned.

The fact that the bill has 223 Democratic co-sponsors in the House (and no Republican) indicates how partisan he is.

That the bill states that “women have also been subject to discrimination … including sexual harassment, differential pricing for essentially similar products and services and denial of services because they are pregnant or breastfeeding” – and yet includes in its protections men who identify as women, who cannot breastfeed and cannot get pregnant – indicates how disconnected the bill is.

Whether the bill undermines denominational protections for religious Americans, those who subscribe to a Judeo-Christian ethic that dictates binary sex, recognizes the value of unborn lives, or establishes marriage as male and female indicates how the bill is hostile to practicing Americans.

The Equality Act imposes nationalized group thinking, and worse yet, group action. Sane Americans who value the principles of freedom and conscience upon which their nation was founded should oppose it.

the The next generation count on it.
