Lake County is assisting eligible households with delinquent mortgage payments through the Lake County Coronavirus Mortgage Assistance Program (CV-1).
Eligible households can receive up to $5,000 for delinquent mortgage payments (excluding escrowed property taxes) for expenses incurred after March 13, 2020. Funds will be paid directly to the household’s mortgage company and rewards will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis while funds last.
The program is available to residents who meet the following criteria:
- The head of household must be a US citizen or permanent resident alien.
- The residence must be the household’s primary residence and be located in Lake County, Florida.
- The residence must have an exemption from the owner.
- The household must have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19 (unemployment, underemployment, reduced work hours or rate of pay).
- The household income must be equal to or less than 120% of the median income of the region.
