LUFKIN, Texas, October 07, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Austin Bank, Texas NA and Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) will award $8,000 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP) funds to the Legacy Institute for Financial Education (LIFE), who teaches financial literacy to create economic stability and generational wealth. The funds will be handed over at a check handover ceremony on Tuesday, October 11 at the LIFE office. Media are encouraged to attend.

LIFE plans to use the proceeds from the grant for its Financial Opportunity Center and Next Chapter program to meet the needs of residents who lack transportation or struggle to pay high gas prices due to unemployment. or underemployment. It also plans to use the proceeds to support the sustainability of its LIFE Skills job training programs.

FHLB Dallas is offering a 3:1 match of up to $12,000 in member contributions to promote and strengthen relationships between community organizations and FHLB Dallas members.
