1MDB Trial for Ex-Goldman Exec Reset for February

By Stewart Bishop (Jan. 7, 2022, 6:30 p.m. EST) – A federal judge in Brooklyn on Friday postponed the trial of former Goldman Sachs executive Roger Ng stemming from the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal. to early February, amid the continued rise of the omicron COVID-19 variant.

United States District Judge Margo Brodie postponed proceedings about three weeks after the government raised concerns about the jury selection on January 18, although she did not respond at the postponement request of about a month from prosecutors and settled on February 7.

Ng, also known as Ng Chong Hwa, is charged with the Overseas Corrupt Practices Act and money laundering offenses for an alleged bribery scheme.
